Rough Draft for Final Project

The end of the semester is coming to a close, and with this, we have a final project due. For my final project, I have created a website that is based off of my own interests, my own experiences, and it has a page about Cyber Rhetoric Writing 502. This website says a lot about how I think, feel, and how I see the world through my eyes. This project means a whole lot to me because of the personal things that I have put on it, like my artwork, and the music that I like. I also put many things that inspire me, too like Marina and The Diamonds, and how I am trying to have people see my art in a different light. My website also includes things like pictures of me, video that one of my friends made for me, and different buttons that take you to different locations on the website. I hope you enjoy the rough draft of my website!

Your website is a good start to a sleek online portfolio. The videos are shot really well–even though you’re not really doing much, the music and the way its shot make it seem interesting. What is the music in the videos?

I think an “about” section on the home page would be beneficial. It is not immediately clear what the website is, and if you’re presenting your work in a portfolio, users should know what exactly is your work and what isn’t.

You should also consider linking the Mollylynnkitty logo in the top left to the home page. Users are used to clicking such logos to go to the home page.

I’m not sure if your art should be included in the WRIT 502 section, especially if you have an entire page on your website for it.

Some information about who Maison Harley is would be nice.

If you’re interested in selling your art, I think WIX has a store/paypal application that you can include in your website.

So. Good. Your website is very colorful and clean. The site as a whole is a good example of the themes and skills this class teaches and I think you have made a wonderful representation. The videos are beautiful!!! I agree with Patrick about taking your art out of the Writing 350 section, it just doesn’t seem to fit there.
    ❤ it!!

I’m going to comment the best that I can. Not that it matters particularly, because you are just learning how to do all of this, but your web site is not really accessible. I can navegate it a little, but not enough to get any information out of it. I understand that art itself is not going to be able to be made accessible, but the general coding of the site doesn’t work with a screen reader. I think this may be a Wix thing, although I was able to find articles on helping their sites become accessible. Also, it is always good to have descriptions of pictures for the visually impaired, captions on music and videos for the deaf, and other such modifications. The music on your home page was nice. It seems like you have really put your heart into this. Make sure there is enough info specifically about this class. From your descriptions it doesn’t seem like there would be enough, but I can’t actually look on the site to confirm this. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
    Good Luck!
