Seeing Through Google: Literally

With each new innovation each year, we have new technologies coming out into the world all of the time. One special technological innovation is the Google Glasses. this technology is something you wear just like glasses, but it has a GPS and gives you information that you can see through just through looking within the glasses. If you go to this website, you can experience what it would look like if you had the glasses on. the glasses can take pictures, videos, video chat, sends messages through voice, translate your words into another language, and can give you information on where you are. These glasses are the “new wave” of technology, and with these glasses, a person can pretty much do anything they would do on their smart phone.

When you go to this website, you can go through what a person feels like with the glasses on; it is very weird, but yet interesting because you can get all the information you want just by asking it through your voice. The amount that they cost is around $1,500 but will soon go down to $299. This new innovation is just a touch of what the future holds, and with this type of technology already being made in 2013, then what will be next?

Molly, I have been following your blog for some time and have been extremely impressed with your insight and overall knowledge of technical advancements. The Google glasses could be an opening to a whole new world or the complete demise of personal privacy. Cell phone cameras have made inroads into this aspect of personal life, but at least you had the knowledge that you were being recorded due to the requirement of an overt action, mainly point and shoot. These glasses eliminate that requirement which might place all of our actions under an omnipresent microscope. In this day and age of increase Government and commercial intrusion into our personal life, do we really need more of this type technology?
BTW you may remember me as an older person that you knew from Aiken.
